About ANTALYA PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF CULTURE AND TOURISM

The Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism is a public body operating under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, responsible for the protection, management, promotion, and sustainable development of Antalya's cultural heritage and tourism assets. The Directorate oversees a wide institutional structure, including museums, archaeological sites, cultural facilities, libraries, and information offices, and plays a key role in shaping regional tourism and heritage policies.

Beyond its statutory responsibilities, the Directorate has developed strong expertise in European Union–funded projects, with a particular focus on digital transformation, sustainable tourism, skills development, and capacity building for cultural heritage and tourism professionals.

EU Projects

Within this framework, the Directorate is actively involved in several strategic EU projects:

  • DIGITALIA (Erasmus+ KA220-VET) - focuses on the digitalisation of cultural heritage and the strengthening of disaster-resilient heritage management. Through needs analysis, curriculum development, training modules, and a comprehensive disaster preparedness framework, the project enhances institutional and professional capacities in digital heritage management across Europe.
  • BIAD (Erasmus+ Alliances for Education and Enterprises) - addresses skills gaps in the tourism and hospitality sector by integrating digital and innovation-oriented competencies into vocational education and training systems, fostering closer cooperation between education providers and industry stakeholders.
  • DETOUR (COSME Programme) - supports the empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises along cultural and hiking routes, promoting sustainable tourism ecosystems, local entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic development, particularly in rural and lesser-known destinations.

Through these projects, the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism demonstrates strong competence in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, transnational cooperation, and the translation of EU priorities into concrete regional practices.
