CA FOSCARI UNIVERSITY

Ca' Foscari University of Venice hosts both the Research Institute for Digital and Cultural Heritage (DCH), coordinated by Professor Lorenzo Calvelli, and the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH), directed by Professor Franz Fischer.

The DCH is one of Ca' Foscari's six interdisciplinary Research Institutes, which address major global challenges through collaborative research across university departments. It promotes innovative approaches to the study, conservation and dissemination of cultural heritage, encouraging engagement with the creative industries and digital technologies.

The VeDPH, established in 2019 with support from the Italian Ministry of University and Research, is part of the Department of Humanities and serves as a hub for research, training and knowledge transfer in the fields of Digital and Public Humanities. It supports interdisciplinary collaboration, methodological experimentation and the development of digital resources for the study and communication of cultural heritage.
